Hey, I’m Kia…
A creator exploring identity, grief, and generational trauma through speculative fiction.

Currently, I am working on my debut novel as part of the thesis program at Southern New Hampshire University. When I’m not writing, you can find me enjoying reruns of Bob’s Burgers, exploring new matcha shops around Chicago, or daydreaming about the next world I’ll create.
Behind the words
Hey, I’m Kia. I write for the queer Black girl who has always felt like she never quite fit in, the one carrying family histories, unspoken grief, and a deep curiosity about her own autonomy. Through speculative fiction, I create moody, intimate worlds where those struggles don’t make you weaker; they make you stronger.
At the helm of every story, I ask myself, “What do I want to create today?” I use this as an intentional focus to craft stories where my readers can feel seen and understood. My work encourages readers to look deeply within to discover a new perspective on themselves and the world.
